2017 SOPS Research Symposium

2017 Symposium information

The Society of Postdoctoral Scholars at the University of Kentucky is hosting a symposium to feature the work of postdoctoral scholars and graduate students in Kentucky and surrounding areas. The event will feature a keynote presentation by Dr. James Gould from Harvard, oral presentations by postdocs from UK and surrounding universities, a poster session, and a panel discussion on career options for PhDs. The symposium will allow for the exchange of ideas across a broad range of fields, and abstract submissions are welcome from any discipline. Postdocs from Kentucky and Ohio are especially encouraged to submit abstracts. Graduate students are also welcome to participate. The objective of this symposium is to share research across many different fields. Talks should be general and accessible to an audience outside of the speaker's area of specialization. Each talk is allotted 15 minutes, which includes time for questions. There is an option to present digital posters, or short films about your research on a laptop. To submit an abstract for a talk or a poster, or to register to attend, please visit: http://tinyurl.com/SOPS2017 Abstract submission deadline is Wednesday, May 24, 2017. There is no charge to attend or present at the symposium. Food at lunch and coffee breaks will be provided. Expenses for the symposium are funded by the UK Office of Vice President of Research, UK Student Government Association, UK Graduate School, and UK College of Medicine.
